You don’t have to be a sports or baseball fan to recognize the name “Darryl Strawberry,” whose superstar name and image eventually became synonymous with the destructive nature of drug and alcohol addiction, not only stealing everything he’d worked for, but leaving him without hope — or even the will to live.
But while Darryl’s tragic fall was playing out on a public stage in the world of sports and entertainment, the private demons he was fighting ultimately drove him to the grace, mercy and forgiveness God makes available to all in Jesus Christ. And as God transformed Darryl, his wife Tracey, and their marriage, He created a new and greater purpose for them, one that is now leading others out of darkness and despair.
All are invited to House of Hope Rhode Island’s 2015 “Dinner at the Dunes” Gala in Narragansett, Rhode Island to hear the inspiring message of hope that Darryl and Tracey are now sharing with the world.
