We first heard about House of Hope in 1999 when Sara Trollinger, National House of Hope’s founder, came to speak at the Women of Faith Conference in Hartford, CT with a teen from the Orlando-based program. Sara, a former schoolteacher, was led by the Lord in 1985 to establish a faith-based ministry to troubled teens. At the time, she started with just five people praying and $200.00. House of Hope Orlando was born, and the ministry continued to grow as word spread that families were being healed. Today, all over this country, God is transforming the lives of families through the ministry of House of Hope affiliates.
As a result of that day when we first heard from Sara, and after much fervent prayer, in 2006 House of Hope of Rhode Island was birthed as part of Sara’s larger vision for a House of Hope affiliate to be within driving distance of every major city in America.

Since 2006, House of Hope RI has offered Christian counseling, crisis intervention, parenting classes, and more to teens, families, and youth ministers in our community. With the help of donors moved by God to help rescue this generation, the House of Hope Rhode Island ministry will be a residential program where hurting, troubled teens learn to accept responsibility, respect and submit to authority, get along with both peers and adults, and hopefully come to a saving knowledge of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, in whom lasting healing and transformation takes place. In this Christ-centered environment, the emphasis is placed on healing and restoring teens and their families.

House of Hope RI’s Vision
Our vision is to provide a Christ-centered (interdenominational) residential recovery and restoration program for troubled teens living in Rhode Island, Connecticut and Massachusetts. Through the National House of Hope ministry model of education, Christian counseling, support groups, and spiritual guidance provided in a loving home-style environment, we are confident that lasting healing and reconciliation of teens and their families is possible. Like other National House of Hope affiliates, it is our sincere desire to reach New England’s lost and troubled teens with a message of hope through the life-giving and transforming message of the gospel of Jesus Christ, in whom true freedom and healing is found.
The non-profit ministry of House of Hope RI receives no government funding, relying on faith, prayer, and the generosity of our donors. Thank-you for supporting this life-changing ministry to teens and families!
