About Us

We first heard about House of Hope in 1999 when Sara Trollinger, National House of Hope’s foundress, came to speak at the Women of Faith Conference in Hartford, CT with a teen from the program. Sara, a former schoolteacher, was led by the Lord in 1985 to establish a faith-based ministry to troubled teens. At the time, she started with just five people praying and $200.00. House of Hope Orlando was born, and the ministry continued to grow as word spread that families were being healed. Today, all over this country, God is transforming the lives of families through the ministry of House of Hope.

As a result of that day when we heard from Sara, and after much prayer, House of Hope of Rhode Island was birthed as part of a larger vision for a House of Hope to be within driving distance of every major city in America.

The House of Hope ministry is a residential program where hurting, troubled teens learn to accept responsibility, submit to authority, get along with peers and adults, and come to a saving knowledge of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. In this Christ-centered environment, the emphasis is placed on healing and restoring teens and their families.

Watch this video to learn all about House of Hope’s ministry to teens and their families. You’ll hear from Sara Trollinger herself, as well as teen residents and their families:

House of Hope RI is in the initial stages of starting up and we need your support. We are established as a non-profit and all giving is tax deductible. As you can imagine, our needs are great, but we have a God who is immeasurably greater that all of our needs! Our main request is that you would pray for House of Hope of Rhode Island and ask God how He would have you to be involved in this ministry.

Our Vision

Our vision is to provide a Christ-centered (interdenominational) residential recovery and restoration program for troubled teens through education, Christian counseling, and spiritual guidance given in a loving home-style environment for healing and reconciliation with their families. It is our sincere desire to reach lost and troubled teens and their families with a message of hope. It is through the life-giving and transforming message of the gospel of Jesus Christ, along with Christ-centered counseling, that lives will be truly changed.
